Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Jim Ballantyne SFL President, Impartial?

Jim Balantyne SFL President, SFA board membe and Airdrie United Chairman attended the recent Rangers v Linfield friendly wearing a Rangers Fighting Fund badge. This is the man who was at the helm when his newco bought Clydebank when they died and who also helped relegate Livingston to Division 3. Does it get any worse than this. No wonder they are bending over backwards to accomadate the newco.

Fans should email the SFL and SFA en masse just in case they were in any doub over the strength of feeling amongst the huge majority of fans against allowing newco into Division 1.

Re: Jim Ballantyne SFL President, Impartial?

If he wants Rangers in the 1st division so much, he could always sell them Airdrie United's place and re-apply for entry into the 3rd as Airdrieonions.

Re: Jim Ballantyne SFL President, Impartial?

SFL Chief Executive, David Longmuir was also a fan of now-defunct club-killers Airdrie.

Re: Jim Ballantyne SFL President, Impartial?

The really sad thing about it is that his team (I'm assuming he regads Airdrie as his team) have the most to gain from the Huns having to start in Div 3 as Airdrie, being the losing play-off finalists, would be promoted to Div 1 where they would have home gates against Falkirk and Partick etc and even if they were relegated, they would meet the Huns in 2013/14 in Div 2, assuming that there were no wee accidents like the Huns not winning Div 3.
