Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Friendly v Tayport

Tayport are advertising a friendly against an East Fife XI tonight at Tayport. Anyone any idea what sort of squad we are sending ? Is it all the young boys or are we using it to maintain fitness for the first team squad ?

Re: Friendly v Tayport

0-0 Ht youngsters plus Collier, Whyte & Malcolm
. Trialists - Craig Wedderburn, young boy Ross Lindsay (ex Killie ?) two black players left back Hashim Colo & striker Joel Kasumbaidi (both ex St Mirren ??)
Wedderburn looks decent but not match fit. Lindsay ok but not first team material yet. Colo at left back hhhmmmmmm! Joel up front looks lively but difficult to tell.

Re: Friendly v Tayport

Also looks as if Brian McNaughton is in charge of the team !

Re: Friendly v Tayport

2 mins into 2nd half - Tayport 1 Eastt Fife 2. Joel showed a good turn of pace in the box and drove the ball across the face of goal and defender turned it into his own net under pressure from Brewster. Within seconds of the restart Joel played ball through for Martin but under pressure the defender knocked it past his own keeper to make it 2-0. A low shot frOm the left saw Collier spill the ball and the striker rolled the ball into the empty net. 2-1

Re: Friendly v Tayport

2-2

Re: Friendly v Tayport

3-2 Tayport

Re: Friendly v Tayport

tayport scored all 5 goals anyone have any idea what the fifes lineup was including subs?

Re: Friendly v Tayport

Also a game listed at Hill o' Beath on Saturday 4th August.

Re: Friendly v Tayport

This game was originally a reserve game for the Modern Apprenticeship players. They worked with the senior team by allowing trialists and injured players to play. There were seven 17 year old players on the park tonight.
This was why it was not advertised on the East Fife official site.

Re: Friendly v Tayport

Are these Modern Aprentices not part of East Fife FC ? If they are, should we not be encouraging supporters to go along to support the future of the Club ?

Not a whinge just a perfectly fair statement, I'm sure a number of fans would have liked to have seen this.

We really need to get a communications person in the club, pay someone part-time to do it if we must. Letting your fans know what is going on is even more crucial when you need to attract every customer you can. Alienating your fan base by keeping everyone in the dark re. match info, signings, injuries, the youth and ladies side etc is not the way to encourage folk to come and support East Fife.

Re: Friendly v Tayport

any idea what the line up is at hill of beath today,
including the score?
