Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Thanks for the comments. Would like to see more though. Hopefully with league reconstruction it may give our smaller clubs a chance. I know you guys don't know that much about us but I have been to Ibrox with EastFife in the league and have had great days at packed Bayview as well. Good few years back now. One I remember was Derek (early doors)Johnston scored with a header 1-0 that day to the gers.

Cellic won one of their league titles at Bayview. There are a lot of fans from That era who want those days back. My personal view is 2 Divisions with no live Tv if league games being played. Fans pay subscriptions to sit at home instead of going to games and the twats at the top then accuse fans of not turning up!! Hippocrates. The money then goes in part to the clubs. Plain stupid. I'd rather see a full stadium giving the clubs their money rather than 1/4 empty getting Tv money.

Aye, the games a bogey.
Have good season. Can't see you losing a league game.

You'll see for yourself when you get to the 10 team 1st Division how tight that league is. Teams from our level come to a dead stop if promoted from the 2nd. 10 teams? How stupid is that?

Again, thanks for the comments.

Re: Ibrox tonight

Nice sentiments from these Gers fans.
I wouldnt say I enjoyed the experience but the rangers fans did back their team well and were open to a bit of piss taking.

I was also a wee bit disappointed by the numbers supporting the Fife but if you look at our average home gate I dont suppose you can complain too much.
Sky TV obviously hits clubs like ours more than better supported club and you could see from last night that Rangers are managing to attract a younger support than most SFL clubs. That at least in part has to be down to the infuence of TV as Bob says.

Re: Ibrox tonight

There was probably more people from Fife supportive Rangers at Ibrox lastnite than East Fife fans. It made me so angry to see car loads and a bus leaving the local area to go and support Rangers, shame on them! The exact reason Scottish fitbaw is fooked. How could you possibly want a Glasgow team to beat ur own local side?Disgusting. Just wish everyone would support there local team and give Scottish fitbaw a chance. Gloryhunting barstewards, wouldn't be me anyway, thats for sure, no matter how poor we are..

I don't get that? 7:45 (original) KO on a Tuesday night.
I had to leave work before 4 and just made it.
I'm one of the lucky ones who could I guess.
Many posted they couldn't after the date change.

Yet despite that we had not only great numbers but great vocals - as testified by the Rangers supporters who have posted.
You're a hard guy to please.

As for the comment on the other thread that "posters must be from Fife to know how to post anything on an East Fife Forum" (nv)- someone needs to install Google ASAP ;-)
