Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

It's not all good news

Good game today with a draw about right but any pleasure from the game was tarnished by some very sad scenes before and after the game.
Some of you may know Tam,he's the greying chap who sometimes takes his grandsons to Bayview. Well imagine my shock when I looked in at Bayview early this morning and found the boys sitting at the club gates shivering with just a piece of Turkish delight to eat.
Apparently their grandad had dumped them at Bayview to
swan off in a privately hired MOBUS to St Andrews because an Italian restaurant was offering yesterday's leftovers at half price.
I immediately called the boy's nice Uncle Jim who took them across to the Gospel Hall in Innerleven and he was able to convince them that Christian principles and porrige had saved him and despite their feeling of abandonment there was hope for them.
After the game Uncle Jim handed the boys over to Social Services where they met up with the youngest brother who had been there since early morning.
A spokesperson for Social Services hoped to have the family re-united by Monday (unless there is cheap chicken korma on offer somewhere)

Re: It's not all good news

One of them was even joyriding after the game. Surely the chaps grand children are not old enough to legally drive. It just goes to show you cant rely on the older generation to set a good example.
