Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Goalkeeping problems

Dont know what's up with Broony or how long he'll be out and Andy Collier has also been getting treatment for an injury recently. Noticed in the paper that Gala Fairydean had signed Craig Gordon's dad as a goalkeeping coach and hope to have Craig as back up keeper. If we are struggling for a fully fit keeper we could offer him a short term deal to put himself in the shop window and give our keepers time to get fully fit.

Re: Goalkeeping problems

We have today secured the loan of Goalkeeper Calum Antell from Hibernian until January 2013.

Name: Calum Antell
Nationality: Welsh
Date of Birth: 13/06/1992
Height: 6' 2" (188cm)
Weight: 12st 0lbs (76.27kg)
Previous
Clubs: East Stirling (loan)
Position: Goalkeeper

Goalkeeper Antell, who comes from Ebbw Vale, joined Hibernian as a 17-year-old in June 2010 and after spending a season as the under-19s' first choice custodian was duly promoted into the first team squad. Antell agreed a new contract in the summer of 2012 and started the pre-season game against Zeeland Select during our overseas tour.

A Wales under-19 internationalist, Antell was previously with Swindon Town and is currently the club's second choice goalkeeper behind Ben Williams.

Last season he was loaned out to East Stirlingshire and the Welshman gained a huge amount of experience in the bottom tier of Scottish league football .

Re: Goalkeeping problems

I hope to hell this is not at the expense of Broonie as I hear he is fit and available again. Broonie is our No1 keeper and as long as this loan is as back up I am happy.
