Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: SOS: Willie gray please come in

Depressing that East Fife needs a shit-load of money to compete and can't just match our neighbours and peers on the park without cash injections.

its funny,i spoke to willie gray over a week ago,and he said stranger things have happened, but certain board members would have to leave first.

Re: SOS: Willie gray please come in

Clowns like the chairman, stevenson , and a few more have made good people leave the club ie andy hain , davie hamilton, willy grey. these guys loved eastfife and were forced out by the back stabbing of these guys. get the board out and get the love for east fife back

Re: SOS: Willie gray please come in

Willie and his family were all season ticket holders at Parkhead until the mid 1990s when he jumped on the Rovers bandwagon as they were doing well at the time. After being hounded out of Stark's Park, having taken Rovers to the verge of extinction along with his Weedgie cohorts, he only came to East Fife as he saw it as a chance to get a kick at the Rovers. As soon as Rovers were over the hill and far away with the 2nd Div championship in 2008/09, he couldn't get out of East Fife quick enough, leaving your club with fairly substantial overheads in relation to its turnover.
He then had an involvement with Ballingry Rovers, signing the likes of Bobby Linn on (allegedly £500 per week) - I'm not sure if that worked out either - as I could never find Ballingry's results in the paper this season - maybe someone on here could enlighten me.

Naughty Naughty!!!

Re: SOS: Willie gray please come in

In as few words as can express the Ballingry Rovers scenario, they have gone tits up, and it's a real shame. Great set up, a pitch to die for, but sadly poor financial decisions have brought them down. Not Mr Grey's fault, as it only happened last season.
