Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Fan ownership

Does anyone know how much it would cost to buy East Fife? Sadly I don't have the personal wealth to fund this myself. However, in the pit of depression on the train home from Elgin yesterday i was thinking about the options around us fans coming together and buying the club. This would surely be the best option going forward. Bigger clubs than East Fife have done this and if there was a great enough desire we could do it. I know there would be huge challenges if this were to happen but think about it. Fans buy the shares, vote in a board (reviewed annually at AGM) and we don't just have a voice but we own the club. No-one taking money from the club and the best interest of our team would always be at the fore. I appreciate there would potentially be massive fall outs over everything from building terracing to whether the strip should have stripes but that's why there should be an annual election of the board where every shareholder could stand / have a vote. Would anyone else be interested in offering money to try to fund a buy out? I fully appreciate that we'd need a lot of support but you never know, Samantha Twigg may want out and sell for a fair price. My only interest is the best for EFFC and i have no interest in beung a board member.
