Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Smith returns to Easter Road

Thursday 8th November 2012
SFL Website

Hibs youngster Scott Smith has returned to the club after a loan spell with Second Division East Fife that saw the 20 year old play 6 times for the new Bayview club.

Smith was brought in by the club’s previous assistant manager Gordon Chisholm when he was deputising for manager Gordon Durie who was off ill before resigning at the weekend.

Smith, who also had a loan spell at Brechin last season, did have the satisfaction of scoring his first senior goal when he scored from 18 yards in last month’s 3-0 success over Forfar.

Re: Smith returns to Easter Road

So unless McCormack is fit for this weekend, we won't have a recognized left back?

No chance of bringing him back ?

Re: Smith returns to Easter Road

Except Barr, all of the loan players must go back to their clubs and Billy Brown can start from a clean slate.

Re: Smith returns to Easter Road

Real shame for the lad probably have to sit on the bench for most of the season, I thought he looked very good in a few games he's played in and when he came on to score against forfar he look fresh and changed the game. I thought him and barr have been great loan buys but no so impress with the other loan players they haven't done much for the team maybe billy knew and thought otherwise...oh well his decision fair enough to let him return and we do have Craig johnstone who has played left back before you know. Am sure Saturday will be a reshuffle back four if mccormack isn't fit to play so don't panic guys.

Re: Smith returns to Easter Road

Thought Smith was outstanding in his first game at Bayview...can't remember who it was against though to be honest.
Barr is class and I hope we can keep hold of him while Antell has also shown his class - particularly down at QoS.
Not been particularly impressed with Forster, though.
I'd much prefer a fit Bob Malcolm to be at the back.
