Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Superfan

Reading other posts with all the different views made me wonder who is or was East Fifes greatest fan.
Who are the best/longest supporters, fundraisers, volunteers, moaners, etc.
Should be interesting reading some of the nominations.

Re: Superfan

Early nomination for biggest moaner has to be SPF!

Also funniest "supporter at matches is the wee chap with side burns and glasses....you all know who I mean!!!!! He works himself into a frenzy at the slighest incident.

Re: Superfan

Re: Superfan

Always remember sitting close to him at Livingston away a few years ago. think it was the 4-3 game. Almost started a riot as we were a baw hair away from the Livi fans. Mental

Re: Superfan

We know him as the Human Teleprinter after the old machine that used to splutter out the final scores as they came in, before the classified results on Grandstand.
East Fife legend.

Re: Superfan

I hope I'm thinking of the same guy, sits in the area next to the directors bit, talks/shouts/makes noise the entire game, most of which is incomprehensible?

Legend!

Yep...thats the chap!!!

Re: Superfan

If it's the same guy, he used to stand and pull his socks up throughout the match at old Bayview usually after a mouthful of expletives. Anything would get him going, a slightly dubious decision about a throw-in on the half way line would be enough.

Re: Superfan

Haha, wee podge fi Kennoway! Nice quiet man then all hell breaks loose when watching the Fife! Legend!
