Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Reserves

Any info on the reserves against Partick th. result and team? and will the Brechin game highlights be on the website soon?

Re: Reserves

Reserves beat Thistle 2-1. Broony (the polar bear) was in goals. Liam Gormley scored and Sean Jamieson also played. That's all I know.

Re: Reserves

Partick Thistle Reserves 1, East Fife Reserves 2
Wednesday 16th January at 07:31

The Thistle reserves returned to action last night at a cold K Park in East Kilbride when they faced East Fife.

They were, however, unable to return with a win as they went down 2-1 to East Fife.

Thistle, who fielded Glen Daniels on from Celtic in goal, took a 1-0 lead into the dressing room at half-time. Great work from Jonathon Black created the opportunity for James Craigen who was able to convert Black’s cut back in the 16th minute.

During the second half the relatively more experienced James Craigen and Mark McGuigan were substituted, perhaps with half an eye on Saturday’s fixture with Falkirk, leaving Thistle to finish the match with an inexperienced eleven.

Indeed it was after those two substitutions that East Fife, inside the space of just a few minutes, firstly equalised and then scored what would prove to the winning goal.

Thistle thought felt that they should have been awarded a late penalty after an apparent foul on Malky McLean.

Team: Daniels, Wilson, Keenan, McLean, Lindsay, Sekhon, Craigen (Gallacher), Moffat (Brown), McGuigan (G O’Donnell), Black, Leyden.

Re: Reserves

Good result.

Any chance of there being a game the last week of January when I'm over?

Re: Reserves

As far as the highlights go, Graeme wasn't there on Saturday but Brechin did film the game so hopefully the goals will be on SFLtv this week.
Think Grame is back for the next home game though.
