Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Stranraer vs East Fife - 2nd February 2013: Match Preview

Striker set for Stranraer start

Darren Gribben will go straight into the Stranraer starting line up against East Fife.

Stranraer have brought Gribben, 26, to Stair Park for a second time following the striker's release from Arbroath.

Everyone else is fit and available to manager Stephen Aitken who recognises that a win could alter his side's season.

Aitken said: "With Albion Rovers not playing we have the chance to create an eight-point gap over them at the bottom. If we win we draw ourselves closer to the sides in the middle of the table so we have a great incentive to pick up the three points.

"We beat East Fife in our last meeting and it would be fantastic to do so again especially as they won 6-2 when they were last at our place."

New signing Dale Keenan will be in the East Fife squad.

Midfielder Keenan has joined the Fifers on loan from First Division promotion chasers Partick Thistle.

Collin Samuel is expected to shake off a knock but David Muir (foot), Darren Smith (toe), Ross Brown (knee) and Gareth Wardlaw (knee) are out and Paul Willis faces a fitness test after a training ground injury.

East Fife are looking to win against Stranraer at Stair Park for a second time this season.

Manager Billy Brown said: "East Fife won handsomely 6-2 down at Stair Park before I joined them and then we lost 1-0 at our place when we played the best football I have seen us play.

"It is a game we should have won but fair play to Stranraer as they defended well. Hopefully we can play well and win this one."
