Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Just in case anyone is interested...

... there is a game at Bayview tomorrow against Forfar Athletic kick off 3pm.
You wouldn't know it though from the complete disinterest on this site!

Re: Just in case anyone is interested...

Folk are so apathetic and given the way things are I can't blame them

For what it's worth I hope we win, but that will be depended on whether our defence can improve on their recent poor performances, whether Darren Smith is back in midfield to add a bit of bite and guile and, radically, whether we can score more than Forfar.

East Fife vs Forfar Athletic - 9th February 2013: Match Preview
Fifers look to leapfrog Loons

East Fife will again be without Gareth Wardlaw as they go looking for the win that will take them above fifth-placed visitors Forfar in the Second Division table.

Striker Wardlaw continues to struggle with a knee injury although Darren Smith could return after a toe problem as manager Billy Brown asks his men for better after their 3-1 defeat against Stranraer last Saturday.

Brown said: "We played poorly at Stair Park and fair play to Stranraer as they deserved their win. I am looking for us to get back on the rails by playing as we can and beating Forfar.

"A victory would lift us above them in the chase for a play-off place but I am sure they have worked that one out as well and will be very determined to stop that happening."

Forfar will be missing Odmar Faeroe as the central defender is on international duty with the Faroe Islands in Thailand.

Also missing for the Loons will be the on-loan Dundee United duo of Willie Robertson, who is suspended, and Dale Hilson, who has picked up an ankle knock.

Manager Dick Campbell is looking for his men to build on a spirited display against Falkirk in the Scottish Cup last weekend. He said: "We ran Falkirk really close before losing out in the last 15 minutes and going down 4-1.

"We will take heart from that and look to play well again as East Fife will see this as a great opportunity to get level with us and start a bid for the play-offs."
