Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: Stars In Your Eyes Fundraiser

I do to my bit for East Fife. Season ticket for over thirty years. share holder. Go to bar every game. fifty fifty and lottery- why are so many events at Buckhaven. why arnt The facilities at the ground used. the bar and resturant - which they are capible of hold these events. Give the money to the club. Who does get the profits of the bar and resturant. I know the pie stalls are franchised.Anyway do do give to young fifers and appreciate the work they do

Re: Stars In Your Eyes Fundraiser

They don't use the facilities at Bayview for the exact same reason as the board of directors who are using Buckhind Community for their anniversary celebration. The exact same reason why we don't go to the player of the year dance which is held at bayview. That reason being that it is not big enough to hold these type of functions.

Re: Stars In Your Eyes Fundraiser

This is not for the 'young fifers', and they have not been that for a long time. They are JSC, Junior Supporters Club.
This is for the Pro Youth Development. It is self funded and need around £110,00 a year to run. The grants from the SFA are around £21,000 and the rest has to be raised through sponsorship and fundraising. Buckhaven Community Centre hold a lot more people that the hall at Bayview and by running their own bar they can maximise the profits. The last event raised at BCC was very well attended and raised almost £3000. A lot of work is put in by everybody and the parents, youth and their families do their bit by attending, selling/buying raffle tickets, donating raffle prizes and by spending their cash at the events.

Anybody that wishes to attend, donate raffle prizes or even sponsor a player for the next season will be most welcome to contact the Pro Youth Organisers. Any business sponsors are also most welcome with various packages tailored to suit.
