Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Travelling to Brechin

Whast is the best way to get to Brechin:

Train to Dundee then bus or train to Arbroath then bus?

I don't have access to a car this week end and have never travelled their on public transport.

Re: Travelling to Brechin

Did the train to Montrose then taxi to Brechin with the Burger Crew. Taxi was around £30 I think, i'm sure there will be a bus service from Montrose to Brechin though.

Re: Travelling to Brechin

I lived in Dundee and Angus for many years.

Lived on this route for a while.

You get the 20 from Dundee, and change at Forfar. It's mostly all on the dual carraigeway, just a few wee diversions.

That said, i've no idea how it would work out if you went up the coast to Arbroath or Montrose and tried from there.

Bon voyage!

Re: Travelling to Brechin

Thanks, I'll do Dundee and bus up from there. Taxi will be too expensive.

Re: Travelling to Brechin

Can you not go on the supporters bus

Re: Travelling to Brechin

Yes, at £12.00 and all the way to the stadium, no brainer.

Can you not go on the supporters bus

Hi Cazza, by the time I come through to catch the supporters bus then I mayze well get the train. Besides, I am warming to the idea of a beer in Dundee, see you at the ground.

Re: Travelling to Brechin

An ayr utd fan has posted pictures on pie and bovril of the state of glebe park on tuesday night. The two wide areas look nothing short of shocking. There wont be much silky football played on a surface like that.East fife players better be prepared to role up their sleeves, and get ready for blood and thunder. It will be like running on mud and sand for 90 minutes, and will be very tiring playing on a surface like that. Not a game for luxury wingers.

Re: Travelling to Brechin

The bus leaves leven at 12.00,plenty of time to get it,

Re: Travelling to Brechin

It was clear from the pictures posted on pie and bovril on tuesday night after the ayr game, that it was highly unlikely, that any football would take place on that park for a while.Pitch been like a tottie field for years.
