Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

2003 Promotion Celebrating Lunch

Were you at that magical match V Queens Park when Kenny D bundled the ball in on the 93rd minute to gain us promotion?

The Trust has decided the 10th anniversary of this is well worth celebrating and have organised a lunch at Bayview on April 20th.

At the moment 13 of the winning team have indicated they'll be there and we're going to arrange it so that each table will have at least one of the team joining you for the meal.

The price - which is partly subsidised by the Trust - includes lunch, admission to the game (V Alloa), programme, half-time refreshments etc. It's a great chance to relive the memories (but maybe without the pitch invasion!)

You can see more details and book at

http://trust2003lunch.eventbrite.co.uk

PS If you go to the above link and click "Attend" (you're not committing at that stage) you can see a clip of Kenny's winning goal!

Do season ticket holders get a reduced price?

Re: 2003 Promotion Celebrating Lunch

The price for season ticket holders is £30. Booking should be done online as requested at £35 and a refund of £5 in cash will be made later.

Actually I think we could do worse than signing this lot en-mass again for the 3rd division campaign that now beckons. Sure they will be 10 years older but they all had what is all too sadly lacking right now and that is strength of character, commitment and a sheer bloody-mindedness that we were never beaten until we actually were. Can folk remember how many late, match winning or match saving gaols we got that season? And they were a big, physical bunch too the tallest Fife side ever probably.

Right let's get them signed-up, put them through a tough pre-season training programme to whip them into shape and let's kick some butt!

Re: 2003 Promotion Celebrating Lunch

Donaldson and Russell would still be easily better than our current full backs (not that we have any real full backs)

Bob Mortimer and Mikey Hall would never lose a header in this league either.

Re: 2003 Promotion Celebrating Lunch

Just a reminder that the lunch is on 20th April and soon we will need to discuss seating plans with the club so if you are planning to go and haven't booked please do so asap.
