Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

O/T Pars Crisis

Pars players were given only 15% of their basic wage this month and the list of folk their chairman owes is growing daily (including debts to Cowden and Hamilton for ticket money and gate receipts).

Feel for the staff and players and fans. Its really not looking good. So far there has been no "Down with Brown" style concerted campaign but that may change on Saturday v Partick.

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

The following is from the pars forum....not looking good for them, not sure where this is going to end.

"Just don't go to work and shut the whole place down on Saturday.... You have been treated like **** so tell the BOD to get to fook!
This whole situation is disgraceful.
I hope the BOD are happy with themselves. Masterton is truly a devil card in all this mess so good luck and I will never go back untill the filth has gone!"

Looks like some fans are planning a stay away protest outside the ground!

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Got to feel for Wee Ryan. Rightly grabbed his chance of FT football, but now faces this.
Surely only paying them 20% is breach of contract - he can come back here get full wages and help haul us up the table.
Mini Sevco - lived beyond their means, SC and LC finals on borrowed money.
Links between Masterton (HBOS) Murray no coincidence?

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Hope the Pars manage to sort this out. I'm a pay at the gate sort of a guy at Bayview. I could quite imagine myself taking a temporary hiatus to pay at the gate at East End if the fans manage to get control, or making a wee (and i am low waged), contribution if it would help save the club.

Gonnae keep us updated please, Sparky?

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Great spot for Tesco. Hate duloch park. Fucking nightmare of a place.

FANNY . enough said

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

It looks pretty grim for Dunfermline right enough.
Really feel for the players and staff who seem to have been putting up with this since Xmas time.
I wouldn't blame them in the slightest for walking out.

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Indeed, they should just go on strike. If you were not being paid at any other job you would simply withdraw your labour until it got sorted. Seems like they have nothing to lose anyway. It might need something like that to get the message across to the idiots running/ruining the club. You simply can't treat people like shit in this way.

Dunfy fans need to be a bit more militant in their actions. It ahs been known for years that there are money problems mismanagement etc. This is no time for pussyfooting around, fans need to take action pronto or DAFC will cease to exist.

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

we could lend them a chicken

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Do the pars not need someone called Jocky? He could let them know that it's all part of the plan, they're not real fans for being concerned and that they're all deluded for not standing by the club irrespective of the self made problems. Just a thought, every club needs this type of view. However, to give any form if opinion is a brave move.

Since when have East Fife not been paying the players, or anybody else for that matter? Another one whose imagination is running riot? What an absolute tube! You just cannae help yourself, can you? Get a life for f*cks sake and please, please give it a rest. What is this p!sh aboot man? Why are you constantly criticising the club you purport to SUPPORT???

If yer no happy 'supporting' East Fife, then jist f*ck off!

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Reading the papers and quotes from Dunfermline owner Gavin Masterton who pars fans may love or hate but at least he has responded to questions. Who owns us and why never a response to numerous threads on this site?

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Seems the threat of a players strike prompted the board to find a wad of cash to add to the players initial palty payment. Meanwhile bar staff an cleaners on minimum wage are again forgotten by the ex Bank of Scotland chief.
Posters are right the links with David Murray are at best questionable.
Don't know why someones have a pop at Jocky in this thread. If what was going on at eep was happening here no one could defend it.
PS among the present chairs plans for salvation are selling off Pitrevie fields which were gifted to the town by Andrew Carnegie. The lease of this property was acquired by MIM and subsequently transferred to Dafc when Lloyd's were after Murray to reduce his bank debt.

Re: O/T Pars Crisis

Most of us just wish Jocky would feck off.
