Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Tonight was a massive game as well.

Re: Albion Rovers v East Fife - GAME ON

OK result. Stops the run of defeats holds off Albion and we know what we have to do on Saturday. Couldn't have been easy playing in these conditions so credit to the players where it's due.

Re: Albion Rovers v East Fife - GAME ON

Massive game for sure.
According to SFA website Muir suspended for Fife :-( and Staunton, Rafferty for Stranraer.

We have to win on saturday

Re: Albion Rovers v East Fife - GAME ON

Just back from the game. The following for those that couldn't manage throoo.

Horrendous conditions wind blowing diagonally and snow/rain for the entire game.

First half saw Albion rover carve out the better chances and it was no surprise to see them take the lead. Both teams appeared to play better against the wind.

East Fife equalised with a superb 35 yard, wind assisted strike, from Paul Willis that flew into the top left corner of the net, their GK left with absolutely no chance.

Second half I feared the worst with them having the wind at their backs. No such worries though. We started to play a wee bit fitba' and forced their keeper to make a couple of good saves. Both from Barr, one a speculative lob from the edge of the box that was dropping in just under the bar, but the keeper got finger tips to it. The other from a good move that saw McManus race clear on the right and unselfishly lay the ball across the box to Barr. His first time shot was well saved.

Towards the end of the game we broke away again, this time McBride outpaced his marker and sent an inviting low ball across the 6 yard line that just evaded McManus.

Its fair to say it was not all one way traffic. But nothing to write home about.
Good display from the team in terrible conditions. With a wee rub of the green it could have been 3 points.

Their GK got MOTM.... can't argue with that.
