Following on from the discussion on the other threads....What makes someone a "true" East Fife supporter?
Do you have to go to all the games? Do you have to possess a season ticket?
Or do you just have to post on a forum about the club?
Must you be non critical?

The term "true fan" gets on my tits.

I don't think fans who don't go (like ma'sel) can call themselves, or be called, supporters. Lapsed/former supporters maybe. Folk that are going and enduring this present incarnation of East Fife in spite of all the current 'no light at the end of the tunnel' ownership situation, deserve a medal. They're also entitled to have a pop at folk who don't go.

East Fife is our team but only the attendees are actually supporters for me.

The dictionary definition of fan is 1."a devoted admirer" and 2."one who is a wildly enthusiastic follower of a person or sport"
I suppose that doesn't help much as you can be 1. and not attend but 2. suggests you need to attend.
However can you be 1. if you criticise ? and can you be 2. if you dont attend ? I don't think there is such a thing as a true fan so perhaps if you are 1. and/or 2. you are a fan but if you meet neither definition, yet there is still an affection for the team or person, there is another name for you e.g. supporter
Coincidentally I looked up lonely (noun rather than adjective)and the definition is "one who is no longer a 1. or a 2. and constantly use websites to criticise what they haven't seen and explain why they don't attend".

As usual I do not speak for anyone else and the above opinion is probably not shared by another living human.

On another note, I liked the Trust e-newsletter. Impressive and good reading (especially about standing areas round the park).

East Fife through and through.I would turn up to every game if I could. What makes an EF fan? Everything; I turn up in my local bar wearing my EF top; I get loads of abuse. So fuck?
