Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Just a thought !

Genuinely feel really sorry for the Dunfermline players who had their contracts terminated. They are unlikely to be offered full time contracts elsewhere with only 7-9 games left. Some may be lucky and get a per contract for next season. Could some of them do a job at Bayview for the rest of the season and help us stave off the threat of relegation ? Before anyone says - ' we don't want anymore loan signings' - they wouldn't be. I'm sure they would be desperate to show what they can do, to try to get a contract somewhere for next season. They are getting no income at present so at least part time wages will help. There are some good players released like Barrowman, Kirk, Dowie & McMillan who I'm sure could all help our cause. Some will say we shouldn't waste money on players for less than 10 games but if we manage to stay up I'm sure the income from two home games against Rangers would more than cover it. Many fans don't believe that we have the players with the fighting spirit to see us through any play off scenario so here is an opportunity to bring in a couple of experienced players with all to play for.
Billy Browns relationship with Jim Jeffries could surely help get a couple of them in. Over to you Mr Brown and the Board

I think that is a great idea; well said that man.
