Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Ayr Highlights

Highlights from Saturday's game are now on the official site. They can also be viewed on mobile here.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Thans Graeme.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Story of our season really, bad goals to let in and Brown sadly for both. We need a goalie who's comfortable coming off his line. Ridgers did and you felt more relaxed at corners and therefore the defence would as well.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Never felt the goalkeeping position was the problem and that pretty much confirmed it. Would stick with Michael Brown but he has to do better that that.

Re: Ayr Highlights

That was a penalty not a dive.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Individual mistakes have been the story of the season.Michael brown will know that he was at fault for both ayr goals.I have a feeling that antell will be back tomorrow.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Poor goalkeeping the root of that defeat,1st goal he should be knocking everything out his way to claim that ball.2nd goal fumbled a powder puff effort.Everyone makes mistakes, but that cant do much for a team whose confidence is so fragile.Hard to believe you could go through a season and lose so many games by a single goal.Team not playing badly but opposition must smell our confidence is low.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Cheers Graeme

Re: Ayr Highlights

4 clean sheets all season - it's not difficult to see where the problem lies ! I mean defensively, not just the goalkeeper but the whole team. I'm afraid the Manager must also take some of the blame as must the previous Manager as neither of them did anything to rectify what has been a glaring problem for the last couple of seasons. We got away with it previously as we had scored fairly freely but this year the four strikers - McManus, Samuel, Jamieson and Gormley have around 12 goals between them. The last couple of Managers have either not picked up on the weakness or have done nothing to put it right despite funds being available.

Re: Ayr Highlights

Browny Browny was heard shouted from the stands as his name was called out against Arbroath at home, fans saying get Antell out we want our most experienced player in goals. We need to stop shipping in soft goals, every defeat blamed on Antell hes not good enough to lace Brownys boots !
I for one don't want Antell back in goals for the remainder of the season, if you get relagated he will be the fans scapegoat so you should stick with Browny because as stated before he doesn't make mistakes he would come off his line and clear out everyone in front of him.
Arbroath goal free header back post , Albion Rovs goal abit soft, now two more soft goals in the last game, 3 games played 2 defeats and 1 draw. Perhaps you need to recall Collier from his loan move, give the boy a chance after all hes one of your own.
Ive stated on here before that the whole team needs to take responsibility for letting in soft goals its not always down to the goaly. East Fife is a good club, fans need to support their players through thick and thin hopefully a couple of wins will save the Season and Billy can build in the Summer, good luck for the rest of the Season !
