Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Look on the positives

Wasn't at the game today but by all accounts we should have won the game but unfortunately we didn't get the three points the performance deserved. However, we are a point closer to Stranraer meaning only a win for them at Stenhousemuir guarantees them staying up, rather than a draw if we'd lost today. Stenny still have an outside chance of the play offs so they'll be giving it their best shot against Stranraer.
We have Brechin at home, with them having already secured their play off spot. They play another midweek game this week against Albion Rovers before they come to Bayview. Hopefully they may rest a few players against us as the prepare for the play off first leg the following Wed. The last two performances from the Fife have been much better taking 4 points against the top 2 teams in the League. Unfortunately our fate next week is not in our own hands but if we can beat Brechin we give ourselves a chance. If Stranraer do beat Stenny then fair play to them, but at least we would go into the play offs with a bit of confidence and form.
Hopefully the Club do something to encourage as many folk to Bayview as possible as the fans certainly lifted the players last week and I'm sure the 2500 at Palmerston today will also have helped. C'mon the Fife, we can still get out of this and keep ourselves in Division 2.

Re: Look on the positives

Absolutely spot on! COME ON THE FIFE!!

Re: Look on the positives

I actually think we have a damn good chance of avoiding these play-offs.
Stranraer have an incredibly difficult trip to Stenny while we have a home advantage.
The last couple of weeks have been a lot more positive from our point of few.
Let's hope it continues for one more week!!

Re: Look on the positives

Brechin 2-0 Albion result tonight.
Third place secured.
They'll not want to risk injury to some of their key players on Saturday, so fancy our chances if our players are up for it.

Just need Stenny to do the business, they have a good chance of a play off spot if results go their way. Hope they give 100%.

Re: Look on the positives

The players should also be motivated to get revenge for the recent 6-0 pumping we got at Glebe Park
