Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Darren Dods

Released by Falkirk - he's EXACTLY the sort of player we've been crying out for all season.
Surprised that Iain Russell and Liam Fox have been released by Livi too.

Re: Darren Dods

Agreed.

I also iked the big baldy #5 from Brechin.

And Ryan McCord from Alloa.

Re: Darren Dods

Big McCulloch from Brechin I think is the bald lad.
Why was Ewan Moyes on the bench on Saturday? always liked him as well.

Gerry McLauchlan is the name of the bald Brechin centre half - played very well on Sat

Re: Darren Dods

That's it, McLaughlan.

Brechin were resting Moyes, Trouten and Jackson ahead of their promotion play off games. Whether or not we stay in Division 2 will have a big bearing on who were are able to bring in (along with other factors !)
Wonder if Darren Dods has Management aspirations ?

Re: Darren Dods

Massive Iain Russell fan, would be a great signing. A proper goalscorer!

Re: Darren Dods

Young lad Gerard Lundy been release form Dundee United 6ft 2 Centre Back. Him and Dods could do a job.

Would like to see Jesus from Livingston signing just for that little but of extra help when needed.

Re: Darren Dods

The one from Nathareth would do a better job IMO

Re: Darren Dods

Iain Flannigan of falkirk has been released, would be a good winger if barr goes to partick.

Colin Nish and goalkeeper Adam McHugh who was at airdrie last season has been released by relegated Hartlepool United this week also good buys if we stay up.

Re: Darren Dods

Is this some sort of sick joke? I mean if players like Eoin Doyle are getting past you I think it's time you consider retiring and taking up Bowls. If you are seriously considering playing him you need your head looking at, we may as well chuck Billy Brown as well. Idiots.

Fox has been offered terms by raith.

Re: Darren Dods

Ian Russell would be an excellent addition :)

Re: Darren Dods

No point in speculating who we might bring in until we know our play off fate. If we stay up the players we can chase will be of better quality as we will be guaranteed some bigger crowds next season with Rangers and possibly local derbies against Dunfermline, therefore more money through the turnstiles. However, if we go down, we'll struggle to bring any of the players mentioned as the wage structure will be even worse than at present. We have no players signed for next season so, whoever the manager is next season will have a blank canvas.
Lets hope the lack of action by the Board and the Manager does not cause us to drop to Division 3 otherwise it could be a long time till we rise again.

[insert player] has been released by [insert club] and would be a great signing for us. Repeat until August.

So is that good, bad or average for this league?
