Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Thank you

Re: Billy Brown post match v Berwick

Once again the manager, has a dig at the ability of our players, "Half the players wouldn't have reached the goals, with the penality kicks". When is he going to realise that they are his players as well, and if he organised them a bit better, then things would maybe not be as difficult as they seem to be just now. These guys aren't as bad a he makes them out to be. Hope he goes on his holidays and doesn't come back to Bayview. He does a load of shouting at the players, but nothing seems to be tactical, or encourgaing. Go now Broon!!!

Re: Billy Brown post match v Berwick

Watched Sky Sports interview with Paul Scholes yesterday and Scholes was asked "what's the best thing about Sir Alex's style of management?" Scholes's answer - "He always does his best to protect his players" - i.e. not openly criticise them in the media. Take note, Billy...

Come on - be fair. He did not have a dig at the players......his comment was applicable to both teams and in relation to the fact that penalties were going to be taken into the wind after 120mins of hard slog.

I guess he showed his "utter contempt" for fans by not writing a section in the program this week.

Yeah - now is really the time for brown to go with the playoff final a few days away.

Re: Billy Brown post match v Berwick

Regardless of what division we are in next season Billy Brown should be shown the door. He is clueless tactically but more damaging is that he is especially poor at man management. This constant denigration of his players (I think he was trying to make a joke re the penalties, but it was a lame one) is really just not on. I get the feeling the players are playing for themselves and their own pride right now, they are certainly not playing for Billy Brown.

Would anyone, really, want to play for such a guy next season?

Not true! There are several examples of SAF criticising his players, the most famous when Aberdeen won the cup and he was interviewed on tv after the game and said that their display was not good enough for this club and slated them.

So take note of that and look at what his teams have achieved since!

Re: Billy Brown post match v Berwick

The man has zero manmanagement skills, nothing is his fault, he is a "Billy Big time", that thought he could be a number one, but will always be a number two. The players are playing for themselves and who can blame them

Aye, but...

HE`S BEEN PLACES AND DONE THINGS!

Erse of a man who should be shown the door after we are relegated next Sunday!
