Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

BBC Alba

They usually show the 2nd div playoff finals live, but have they ever showed the 3rd div one?

Re: BBC Alba

BBC Alba showing a game on Wednesday @ 8.00pm and Sunday @ 4.00pm, but no details of which game(s)yet.
Maybe.......just maybe............

Re: BBC Alba

Motherwell vs Ross County was on BBC Alba, Live, today at 4pm and after the game they advertised Wed and Sun's games as the 1st and 2nd legs of the Alloa vs Pars game, so it isn't either of your games, guys.

Btw, good luck in the play-offs vs Peterhead. I'm rooting for yous as much as I'm wanting Dunfermline to win. Anything can happen in football and confidence is something which is vital to a team and I'm sure Saturday's result has made the East Fife players buoyant.

Hope we don't see you in Div2 next season, but hopefully I can see yous thump Rangers at New Bayview on Sky!

Re: BBC Alba

Confirmed.....From the Alba site
Scottish Football League - 2012/13:
SFL Play-off - Alloa v Dunfermline
Alloa host Dunfermline in the 1st leg of the SFL 1st division play-off final.

They will no doubt also show the 2nd leg of this tie aswell.

Re: BBC Alba

What's the chances of them showing the Fife game noo that the Alloa game is pretty much over?

Re: BBC Alba

None. Different ko times.

Re: BBC Alba

the only consolation east fife had than the bbc garlic channel showing our game was Jim Spence was there last night given his thoughts about the game, very good! better than hearing the words of a garlic channel guy trying to spell out the player names such as ryan mccord as Ruriah McCord

Re: BBC Alba

Don't know if contracts etc exist, but if not surely a Gaelic (mostly northern) audience would rather see The Blue Toon game?
Especially with it being in the balance and the other all but over.

Add to that the vastly different distances involved for the away clubs
How many viewers would an Alloa Pars game pull in?
May get a few that COULD go watching in the pub instead of attending, which hurts the clubs?

Our game on the other hand has a Highland interest, a neutrals intrigue, and a reasonably sized support many who won't find it easy to attend.
Come on BBC Alba - see sense and do the only sensible thing.

But then they showed the Cowden final a couple of years ago, AND THEY HUVNAE (even) GOT A TELLY - so what do they know? :-)

Be good if they showed our game but can't see it happening. You'd do well to find a Gaelic speaker in Peterhead in truth. The vast majority of Gaelic speakers live in and around Glasgow these days, having come south for work over the last few generations.

By the way, when they showed the Cowdenbeath game, they did mention jokingly during the commentary about them being reputed to have no tellies!

Re: BBC Alba

BBC Alba, it's a joke, right?
