Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Next season

Any news on players that will definitely be staying with us next year regardless of which league we are in?

Re: Next season

I'd guess that most of the players, as well as the club, will want to wait and see what division we'll be in before we sign anyone up.

Re: Next season

And if we go down please god sack the manger

Re: Next season

One player we should be looking to get fash from leven united

Re: Next season

Good local lad Fash sure he would be great addition to the first team scored lots of goals at Leven United . May take his chance if an approach from team manager to show how much the club wanted him .
Need to see what happens regarding manager for next season.
Certainly if not current manager need someone in that's looking to build a team player manager possibly capable of competing in the league 2/3 with good pros and young players creating good team spirit . Alloa / need I say it Cowden as examples this season .

Re: Next season

With our full time youth team and players NOT breaking into the first team or not getting a chance.Airdries team may be the team to watch next year. The teams average age is approx 19.A player played for the first team against livingston and he was FOURTEEN YEARS OLD.He has already been on trial with fulham. He played against a chelsea youth team scored 3,against a brighton youth team scored 4,.He then came back to airdrie and then played against a dumfermline youth team and scored 6.All this information came from a airdrie season ticket holder.

Re: Next season

That's class that clubs like Airdrie giving youth a chance .
Good luck to the young lad hope he keeps progressing .
Give youth a chance I can remember Alan Hansen famously saying you never win anything with kids.
Sir Alex Ferguson had other ideas. Go on East Fife you never know it might just work as I say few old heads to help .
