Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Billy Brown considers his future
Re: Billy Brown considers his future

Thanks for keeping us up Billy but what did he say to praise his players? This man does not motivate; he might be a good coach but he is not a manager.

Re: Billy Brown considers his future

Billy Brown should go. Yes he managed to get the players up for the play-offs and a got a couple of good results against QoS and Alloa when it mattered (both in Division 1 next season of course) but the rest of the season should not be forgotten. Part of me feels well, ok let's give him a go, there will be no excuses about inheriting another manager's players and it will be his team that starts next season. But I just feel he is the type of guy that will always look for excuses and he doesn't strike me as being a good leader or that clever tactically. Think it would be best for all if he went now and we should start looking for someone who can ensure we make a decent go at getting to the play-offs at the right end of the table. That search should also not be rushed, let's take a bit of time and interview a few people and make sure the right person is appointed.

Next season will be tough. There will be the Bigot Bunch, Dunfermline and Airdrie to contend with along with the likes of Brechin and Ayr who will surely have a better season. Is Billy Brown good enough to lead East Fife for these challenges? I don't think so.

Re: Billy Brown considers his future

Billy Brown must stay.

Re: Billy Brown considers his future

Personally think this needs sorted ASAP. All this "going to Majorca and take stock" is nonsense. The club need to getting talking to the players we want to keep and start building for next season now. Remember the state we were in at the start of the season when we only had 8 signed player? Don't want a repeat of that.

Re: Billy Brown considers his future

Agree with the above but it should be the directors taking stock .

Re: Billy Brown considers his future

He can consider his future all he wants but Billy Brown, the majority of the Board and most of the players won't be at East Fife next season.
