Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Peterhead's 'terracing'

Already excited about next season and having a Fife derby! The games against Dunfermline may / should be a sell out and obviously Sevco games will be. I thought that the 'terracing' that Peterhead had in place today was quite novel. Wouldn't be too expensive to get that in place behind the goals at Bayview. The cost would certainly be covered by the extra fans that could be accommodated or the money we took from the play-off games. Roll on next season!

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

If they can get away with that I'm sure we could get away with a stand made from Lego.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

You obviously don't have kids. Or if you do, then you don't buy them Lego. We'd probably be cheaper making a mould and casting it in solid silver!

Seriously though, I wasn't at the game today, but am looking at pictures of the ground. Do you mean the terracing made from builders scaffolding? That looks pretty neat.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

Cheap and cheerful and must meet the required safety requirements.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

I liked the way their ground was set up and surely this is the model we should follow for next season to capitalise on the bigger gates.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

Maybe we could buy their "terracing" off them - they won't need it next season!!

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

I am absolutely disgusted that fadi the fifer has not found it appropriate to comment on this thread. What's that all about? A huge personal let down.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

Thanks, I was getting concerned for a while.⚽

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

Never get concerned about a missing AFTN post unless it is holding up the Peterhead 'terracing".

Is 'terracing" a euphemism?
As in "cottaging"

Which regular once banned, islam and homosexual obsessed, poster would give himself an Arabic name and go on about cottaging?

Ive seen it.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

I doubt we can bring peterheid stand to methil, reality people it was the same story I herd when we tryed to get either alloas or gretna stand a couple of seasons ago and failed. Why not get barrs construction people in and build the stand from scratch...they seem to build every other football stadium bar there own in ayr or is our car park via sea end too small and a stand or terracing would use the whole parking space up that we would have to use the auld kwick safe car park in lower methil if this went through I dunno seems a heck of a task to me, having another stand could send a message out to players in the future that the club is going places rather one stand of 2,000 and less crowd than 800 like last season but hopefully if we don't build a stand this year and playing rangers and the crowd reaches full capacity every week then it would send a message out to the board if we stay up next season that we need to extended the ground permantely even if its at the current ground or no.

Re: Peterhead's 'terracing'

Think we would only need extra seats for Newco games. Doubt very much it will be a sellout v Pars, esp if they are relegation favs.
