Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Heard this from a few different sources...

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Anyone else heard this or is it rubbish?

Not fishing, I've honestly heard this from a few people in the game.

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

I heard that David Murray has turned his finances round and is looking to get back into football. Apparently he's looking to buy a 2nd division club and fund a title push to get it up Sevco for the way he was ultimately ousted. Souness was to brought in as manager but isn't keen on getting a player in only for them to go to Bolton in January.
season over for 53 hours and silly season is underway already.

Schoolboy error in original post, every Fife fan knows the managers name was Dave Blakey.

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Nobody taking this seriously but we'll hear something today apparently.

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Baikie has now resigned from Ballingry

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Won`t be back if Baikie and/or his management team are back at Bayview.

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Can anyone explain the reasons why Gray and Baikie left Bayview?

Arnie
Baikie has now resigned from Ballingry

We could hire him as a youth coach and help the youths have a successful season or we could offer him a director of football role at our club, he would prove vauleable in the club moving forward afterall db was the man that got the club back to the second division

K - gray left us and decided he did enough to move on and baikie left after poor results in the second hope this helped.

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Gray was ousted in a "night of the long knives" type takeover by Collumbine.
Very underhand as I recall when he was away on holiday and I believe another director or maybe 2 resigned as a result.

Baikies style of football was unpopular with some elements of the support as were his backroom staff. It was probably leaving by mutual consent at the end of the season once Gray was no longer chair.

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

Bring back Craig Robertson.
What is he doing now?

Re: Willie Gray to buy East Fife, Baikie to return as manager

I see that balingry rovers were sponsored last season by bodycare.

On the Pars official website about other parties being interested in buying DAFC. If Fat Willie was the buyer and took Baikie there as manager all my Christmases and birthdays would have come at once. Oh please Lord.
