Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife Managers Fund Query

Good evening

Hibs fan here, coming in peace :) A group of us are trying to start a fund for PF and have heard through the grapevine that you have a similar arrangement. Would someone who is involved be so kind as to give me a bit of background info/explain the admin. of it/pitfalls/costs/success rates etc?

Many thanks in advance. An official enquiry was made to the club with no response...

Someone closer to it than myself can give you a better answer re the East Fife fund, but it hasn't really had the buy in I don't think so far, partly because many don't trust the current board and manager.

It may have been a great success, but if it has, no-one's mentioned much about it.

Have a look at what the AFC Wimbledon fans started this season if you haven't already. They launched it at one of the games I was at down there and has had a good response - http://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/news/article/we-are-wimbledon-update-835431.aspx

Thanks very much for the reply. We are encountering a bit of resistance as there are already many schemes running at Hibs and people don't want contributions 'diluted' if you like. However, shock horror(!) people actually want to put their money into Hibs We are keen to separate what we're trying to do from Hearts' 'save our club' scheme but need to harness the interest and commitment early. Thanks for the AFC Wimbledon link - I will certainly have a look
