Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

give the new board a chance

I am seeing a lot of negative posts already about the board and there plans for east fife.

we have to give them time to get things going. my take on it was that the youth is separately funded so wont come out of the budget so the 5 or 6 full time players could be funded on less money as opposed to a squad of 20 on less money ie this seasons squad. it may well be that the contracts have incentive bonuses included.

the board have started well by speaking directly to the fans and they say this will be a regular thing.

I cannot see why they would say they have signed players when they have not. they have to know this would be a pr disaster and anger the fans.

bringing youth players through has to be the way forward for east fife. if we can get some who make the grade and do well we can get development fees if they move on and in turn make young talent want to sign for the club.

I think these are exciting times for east fife. as long as we are not going into debt why not have a go and see what happens. it is a big ask but if you don't try then we will never progress.

Re: give the new board a chance

Glad the board want to take us forward and I'm excited but slightly worried at same time. This full time thing with foreigners coming in under inexperienced manager is strange and risky. Hopefully things will work out and we have a club to be proud of again. Interesting times. Roll on start of season and all the very best to new board and management. We seem to have become a bit of a joke club on pie and bovril? Fingers crossed we will be laughing once things settle.
