Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

New board vision

I have been a East Fife fan for many a year and until now decided not to comment on the going on at club. over past couple of weeks i have been delighted to hear Lee Murray and his boards vision of way forward for club. Over last couple of season i feel the old board and team had become stale. You just have to look at Falkirk,Livingstone and Dundee united as 3 examples of bringing in youths
these teams have seasoned pros in them but team built around youths and look at them now. As fans we must apreciate that building your team round young players
the rewards wont happen overnight but with expierience and learning every team that does it is benefiting either by a decent side competitive in there division
or a lot of those youngsters can be sold on .
Dundee united had a 16 year old make his debut in a cup semi final at centre half and a 17 year old playing his 3rd game that day now championship sides are looking to sign them.
What we have to be relistic you cant play say all 10 of our full time youths at same time but in a side of seasoned pros they will do well.
Good luck to Willie Atchison and his team its a breath of fresh air but please please give them time dont judge to early

Re: New board vision

It's ok to have a vision but can they deliver it? I fear the goodwill when they took over may already be wearing thin for some people, too many false statements re players,no communication on official site,ex-players calling them cowboys, doesn't sound good

Re: New board vision

All is not as it should be.

Re: New board vision

I agree with 2 steps ahead with regard to the building of a new East Fife team. It will not happen over night and they need to be given time to build a team around the full time youth players, that has to be the way forward for a club such as East Fife in this current climate, money is not plentiful as in past years. Future of any club in any sport is the youth, and the new board has to praised for coming out and saying that. Not a ball has been kicked in the new season and the new board are getting a kicking in some quarters. Situations can be turned around quickly at times when it does not look good. I have faith in the new board and staff and even more importantly in the full time youth players as I have watched the reserve team games last season, which by the way they did get their fair share of playering time, to bring them on. Stop be negativity more positivity required from all to drive this club of OURS to better times.
