Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

U19's

Anyone know how the U19 team got on yesterday in the cup?

Also, what were the circumstances around Robbo's departure from the club? I was thinking and cant remember whey he left.
Cheers.

Re: U19's

Lost 3-0. Motherwell played their under 20 side

Re: U19's

Robbo intimated on live radio that he was falling asleep at the wheel whilst driving home to Inverness.
This was several months before he actually did leave but think there was a poor manager / chairman relationship with Collumbine for some time leading up to his eventual departure.
Personally, think he was a good manager for the club as he did have us challenging for the promotion play offs up to the final day for 2 seasons in a row, not to mention a few giant killings in the league cup taking us to the quarter finals.
Look what's happened since he left.

Re: U19's

Last season EF u19 played the full time lads against a very young Motherwell side and beat them convincingly in my opinion. Think the well might have had that in mind, still a couple of full time played I believe, didnt manage to get to the game unfortunately.

As is their right it's an U20s tournament!

Re: U19's

I know nothing about this stuff but what difference does it make if you are under 19 or under 20? Is there a massive physical or skill set difference between these age groups?

Brian can you enlighten?

Re: U19's

The cup is u19 is it not so how can they have played their u20's

Re: U19's

Im led to believe under 19s is a mix of 17 to 19yr olds so you could have a team of just turned 17 guys against boys nearly or just past 20. Obviously its hard to get any consistency with these teams since your most experienced/most physically mature guys move on every year.
Sport science would tell you there can be a dramatic growth in physical capacity in the years between 16 and 21. (Remember when Steven Tarditi was thin?)

Proper coaches will confirm or refute.

Re: U19's
