Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Wullie Gray - new Rangers chairman

I think Wullie would be a good appointment as Rangers chairman.

He managed to win the 3rd division by spending £180,000 rather than the £14 million Rangers have spent.

Baikie's Boys also gained five more points than McCoist's Mob.

Re: Wullie Gray - new Rangers chairman

Don't really know why I'm surprised, but how can you not learn from what got you in that mess to start with and run with an operating loss of 14 million.

Insanity and one of the main things wrong with modern football.

And as Noisy and KoF pointed out. It didn't make them any better than us.

Re: Wullie Gray - new Rangers chairman

League 1 manager on 800k, first team wage bill 7.8m. They will arrive back at prem league skint again, IF THEY LAST THAT LONG!

Re: Wullie Gray - new Rangers chairman

With Rangers the first team wage cost isnt that bad - on a turnover of £19m its around 40% which will be better than most sides

Their issue is that it costs a lot of money to run their stadium & training ground, plus they pay a lot of money to the board and their mates.

Re: Wullie Gray - new Rangers chairman

Not sure what to make of the situation over at Ibrox. I saw the news reports of "sack the board" banners around the ground the other week. Now they have an AGM on 24th October, 2 days before they come to Bayview.

Will we see more protests in Methil? Or Wullie Gray, carried onto the pitch in a sedan chair and worshipped as the new billionaire messiah?
