Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

There are a lot of worried DAFC fans out there. Court on Fri.
So should know by the weekend what's happening next with their team.

Took this story from STV site.....

Former Dunfermline Athletic owner Gavin Masterton has claimed he is "100% certain" the club will not be liquidated.

Masterton is taking Dunfermline's administrators, BDO, to court on Friday, seeking an interdict preventing the CVA handing the club to fan-led Pars United.

The issue surrounds use of Pitreavie as the Pars' training base.

Pars United do not want to keep the lease, in order to reduce their annual costs, but Masterton has a security on the lease worth £500,000 in the form of a pension fund.

Speaking to STV, Masterton said the Pitreavie situation had been known to BDO for seven months and said that the court order was not designed to block the takeover.

He said: "My signatory on the lease of Pitreavie was made aware to the administrators in March.

"I'm surprised that this issue has not been resolved by now. I have written off millions of pounds of my own money in a bid to save Dunfermline.

"I feel I have no other option but to apply for the interdict in order to protect what's left of my personal pension fund.

"This is not a blocking device to the takeover of the club and I am 100% certain that Dunfermline will not be liquidated."

A spokesman for BDO declined to comment when contacted by STV.

Re: dunfermline possible liquidation

A team who over-spent for almost 10 year, How they managed to get a cva where they re-pay nothing is beyond me? That is bankruptcy in my book ? these mugs should be a division lower down anyway, No sympathy. All the fans knew what was happening when chasing for the spl every season. It really pisses me off the amount of money they have spent and will never pay back
