Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Strikers

Just wondering if others feel the same but i personally feel that we need a physically strong striker that can win high balls as well as score goals, all credit to liam yesterday tried his heart out but was disappointed with cedric for a player of his size i feel he should be winning headers.using ayr utd no 10 for example never caused much threat in front of goal but drew players to him which let others get in front of goal.

Re: Strikers

East Fife have nothing up front.

Re: Strikers

Playing high balls to our strikers yesterday was a disaster and seemed to have everyone sitting in the home end baffled. With the size of their central defenders and their ability in the air it was clear after about 5 minutes that this wasn't going to work. We were still doing it 5 minutes from the end though. Amazed and concerned that nobody in the dugout picked up on it and changed it.

Re: Strikers

thats the point i was making, we have nothing.Christian Nade was supposed to be fit around 2 weeks after the wolves game we are now in october and still nothing.i think we need someone like him upfront that wont get pushed off the ball so easy

We have scored 6 goals. The team closest to that is stranraer who have scored 12goals. Aitchinson says "we prepared well but the simple fact is the boys didn't produce the goods". Another classic comment from our manager!!!

Re: Strikers

i couldn't believe what i witnessed yesterday.
East Fife have plummeted to new depths as a football team.
