Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

3 2 1 v Dunfermline

3 Gary Naismith Thought he was immense. Never gave the ball away once in the first half when others were panicing all around him. It's clear watching him he's played at a higher level.

2 Liam Buchanan Worked his socks off on his own up front v 2 burly centre halfs and never stopped the whole game plus his goal was a touch of class.

3 Craig Johnstone A real captains performance. Always wanted to be involved in defence and attack. Clearly means so much to him and really played well

Also a mention for Joe Mbu who after a few weeks as sub won everything in the air being fired towards him and Cedric Tuta who although came on late really changed the game in our favour and gave their centre halfs a torrid time!!

3 Naysmith - Composed and never seemed to give the ball away. Didn't think he got too much help from McBride in the first half (at times I thought he was man marking Falkingham, then other times he just seemed to wander in field on his todd) Well organised and solid. If he moves to Hearts in January as many suspect, it will be a massive loss to us.

2 Buchanan. Worked tirelessly for 80 minutes against two towering centre halves. That finish to cap of a hard shift - sweet. When we were holding on to the lead at the end he retained possession well and showed the vast experience he has

1 Dutot. Thought he did really well coming in from the cold and playing at right back. They seemed to be pushing their wide men a lot, so credit must go to Dutot (and Naysmith)for keeping them out. Highlights show a fantastic block to prevent the game going to 2-0. Moved to midfield role and remained steady. Also played a big part in the equaliser, collecting the back heel from Tuta. Assist for Liam's goal also I think?

Notable others... Big Joe, Stonie
