Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Rangers Programme

It's the old story of bad news and good news. The bad news is that the programme will cost £2.50 this week. The good news is that there are four extra pages in the regular programme taking it to 48 pages and an additional 12 page souvenir supplement celebrating the 60th anniversay of our 1953 League Cup victory. The supplement has great articles including memories of the day by fans who were there, great photos and all the details about before during and after the game.

The main programme has all the regular articles plus .........
AFTN Blog and Beyond the Breeze Block are back.
An obituary for Norrie Martin accompanied by a tribute from Dave Gorman
Details of European Cup final players who bettered themselves and joined East Fife
The U15's in Bulgaria.
Details of an event involving the 70-71 team and Manager Pat Quinn

Re: Rangers Programme

Not content with ripping the fans off by upping admission prices they up the price of the programme.Next it`ll be the pies and bovril

Re: Rangers Programme

Why not charge 50p more we may aswell get as much cash as possible just say half the attendance buys a programme there is an extra £1250 in out pockets

Re: Rangers Programme

I'm sure this has been asked before so forgive me - is there a way of buying one-off programmes on-line and having them posted to me, like this one for example which sounds so good I've just got to have it!
I live away and only get up to Fife a couple of times a season.

Many thanks

Re: Rangers Programme

Email me and I will give you the details necessary to get a programme every week or on selected weeks.

How can you say it is a rip off when you've not read it yet?

Folk are delighted to get a bargin and a discount but moan when they have to shell out a few extra pennies the odd time.

If you're not happy with the free market economy move to North Korea.

Re: Rangers Programme

50p for extra pages & a 12 page souvenir commemorating our 1953 cup win & people are moaning??? FFS what do you people want?

Re: Rangers Programme

I wish some would actually read posts before banging away a response on their keyboard. Its not the upping the price of the programme its the combination of that and the upping of the admission price.

The club are fleecing the regular attenders

Re: Rangers Programme

Forgot to mention this earlier but thanks to all who put in the extra effort to get the programme and supplement complete and also all at Levenmouth Printers for their continuing, and on this occassion additional, support.

Re: Rangers Programme

I am sure it will be a first class programme as always ,keep me one Toc please.

Re: Rangers Programme

and for all the whingers ,if u don't like the price rise then don't buy one ....simples

Re: Rangers Programme

Will the Trust be subsidising a future programme later in the season?

Re: Rangers Programme

I think we will be subsidising the Rangers away programme as otherwise by that time it will be a handwritten photocopy of the squads with cartoons of Ally and Charlie and Craig.

Nit that I am a king of finance but as I understand it the Trust doing the programme though volunteer effort has saved the club a significant amount of cash over the years. If by subsidising it yo mean give it cheaper to buyers would probably mean some one, probably the Trust itself incurring debt, which I dont think is justifeid.

Re: Rangers Programme

It's hard to believe that people are actually asking for a subsidised programme! Do they have no shame? 50p extra for a programme this week, which has a 12-page supplement, to cause so much hassle, justifies why people from elsewhere in Scotland AND England I work with, call Fifers tight!

Re: Rangers Programme

I think Mr NtOC will have understood my query as being entirely tounge-in-cheek.

Re: Rangers Programme

How was the programme then? 12 page celebration of 1953 league Cup win interesting read?

Re: Rangers Programme

Great read, first class, well worth the money. A big thanks to all responsible for producing it.

Re: Rangers Programme

Just had a chance to sit down and read this.

Absolutely fantastic stuff and a great read.
