Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Up and Down

We're into the 2nd quarter and have already played Rangers and Dunfermline twice.
We didn't have a great start to the league campaign and it took a while to get a settled team. We now have to make progress and start racking up a few points.

Although the league is tight, a wee run of victories from any team would see them climb the table.
Think we have strength in depth and players challenging for places in the starting eleven.
If our players can stay injury free, no need to expect anything other than mid table or better.

Rangers are going to win the league at a canter, so who'll get 2nd 3rd and 4th and who'll be challenging for the bottom two????

We have not had many injury problems. These come as the season progresses. The injury situation always worsens in the winter.
We are second bottom of the league, and we have scored at least six goals fewer than every other team in the league. If Hearts score again tonight, we will stand alone as the lowest scoring team of Scotland's 42 clubs. We are on to our third assistant manager of the season and it is still only October.
Why should we expect "mid table or better"?

Re: Up and Down

I hoping that over the next 7 games we earn more points than anyone else in the league (other than rangers of course).

Re: Up and Down

I particularly hope we earn more points than Rangers! That would cheer me up considerably.

Agree we need to score more goals and constant change in management team is not a good thing. However didn't have a great pre season and a lot of the players had to settle in after the season started.
Recent games have showed signs of improvement and we're playing a bit fitba'. Don't want to be in the situation we found ourselves in last season, battling for survival in this league.
Nade paired with Buchanan will sort the scoring problem!!!

Agree with the original post.
It seemed to take a bit of time for the manager to get a settled side but I think he has that now and we're looking all the better for it.
I really think we'll kick on now and start picking up a few wins.
