Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

style of play

Have watched the last four games and our formation and style of play is terrible. We pack the midfield and play one upfront and when the ball comes from midfield ther are few options for the midfielders to pass. The three of the last four teams have been poor so why pack the midfield. We just seem to let other teams come on to us instead of having a go.I always thought attack was the best for of defence. Why do we wait until the last 20 minutes to change it and have a go .By this time we should have been out of sight and it showed how poor Arbroath are.It aint working and I cannot believe the winger actually makes the first team.I feel sorry for all the supporters who had to watch that first half.

Re: style of play

Ive not been to a game for a long time. I do still pay keen attention to whats happening at Bayview though. From posts on here this season, match reports, highlights etc it seems the team are starting games with a not to lose approach. To be playing these tactics with any thoughts of ambition at this level is a form of madness (it may come to be known as Craig Levein Syndrome). Investment in a team is wasted. I want to be encouraged back.

Re: style of play

Passing the ball better than 80% of the league, looking the better team for large spells of the game. Just in the final third its not happening. Have enough possession to beat teams easy. Liam is a talented player but asking a wee bit much of him at times.
Real promise in the youngsters coming thru at the club
