Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Just a reminder about this Saturday

Supporters of a certain vintage should not miss the chance to come along to Bayview and meet their heroes when the last East Fife squad to win promotion to the top tier of Scottish football get together again for a reunion on Saturday 16 November.
Yes, we are welcoming to Bayview the members of the 1970-71 squad that was promoted to the old First Division where we spent three unforgettable seasons!
Our intrepid investigators have managed to track down every surviving player who contributed to our success that season and all have accepted our official invitation to have lunch before the game against Stranraer, take a bow on the pitch at half time, and meet fans in the lounge after the match.
Please make the effort to come and meet the players in the lounge after game and relive some great memories – our guests would love to meet you too! And don’t be shy if this squad were before your time – these players have a wealth of stories to tell about their days at Bayview when East Fife were back in the big time.
Those attending are: Davie Gorman, Doug Soutar, Davie Clarke, Peter McQuade, Alex Jamieson, Walter Borthwick, John Martis, Rab Cairns, Bertie Miller, John Bernard, Joe Hughes, Jimmy Finlayson, Graham Honeyman, Brian McNicol, Billy McPhee, Doug Dailey, John Brown and first team coach George Dewar. We are especially delighted that manager and midfield maestro Pat Quinn will also be joining us.
The untimely death of goalkeeper Norrie Martin means that we are unable to make a complete set of players who represented the team that season, but Norrie will be in our thoughts on the day.
Remember, remember … the 16th of November. It is sure to be an unforgettable day.
