Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Fife Cup

I see that we're playing Cowdenbeath in the Fife Cup next Thursday!!!

Can anyone tell me if this is this seasons Fife Cup or Last Season's???

Was the tournament completed last season???

What happens when it isn't, is that season's tourney voided, but in saying that I'm sure that we have actually won it recently when it wasn't even that seasons tourney, does any of this make sense???

I get the feeling that this competition isn't treated with the respect and gravitas that it deserves, perhaps it is needing to be rebooted to give the Clubs an incentive, glamour sponsorship or entry to Europe perhaps!!!

Re: Fife Cup

How about the holders are permitted to wear crowns when playing any other fife team.

Re: Fife Cup

I would like the Fife cup to be played as a pre season tourney and complete it before season starts. Just a thought.

Re: Fife Cup

Loved it when they did that for a spell in the 80's. Would love to see that again.

Not sure the demand for it is there any more, not helped by the smaller leagues and playing each other regularly now.

Re: Fife Cup

was there not a time when they would play all fife cup games at the same ground ? 2 games one after another on same day ?

I seem to recall that too.

I remember Fife cup ties at Bayview, we played the Pars and Raith played Cowden on the Saturday and the final was the Sunday

Re: Fife Cup

It should be the domain of the under 19's now,but I think Burntisland Shipyard stop that something to do with their SFA membership or the fact that they don't have an under 19 side.
