Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Derrick Brown

Maybe I'm a bit behind the times but I nearly fell off my bar stool tonight when I read on the Livingston FC website that they have acquired a new Football Executive/Secretary - one Derrick Brown. They must really be in big trouble if they have to stoop this low! No wonder their chief executive resigned (and is now suing them!).

Re: Derrick Brown

plus Neil Rankine ( Finance Executive)!!!!

Re: Derrick Brown

Rankine can save skint club

'Majority shareholder Rankine has brought in veterans Gordon McDougall, Derrick Brown, Robert Wilson and former Livi Chief Bill Hunter to aid the salvage operation.'

Rankine 61 admitted "Were picking up £1.75 million worth of debt to save a club with no assets, apart from 3 players and a bad lease on the stadium. That's why us dinosaurs have got involved. Gordon McDougall was 18 years at Cowdenbeath, Robert Wilson had 12 at Berwick. Derrick Brown went into East Fife when they were £280,000 in the red and left then £150,000 in the black."

Re: Derrick Brown

Genuine question, how many times have Livi got themselves into serious debt in their short life? 3? 4?

Re: Derrick Brown

It's the up keep of that nice wee ground they have with no fans to fill it. The hidden costs for maintenance and safety are significant. Know a guy who did a load of work for the jambos and they too have struggled with that type of cost.

Re: Derrick Brown

Last time they entered administration and were put in the 3rd division they travelled up through to the 1st with full time squads. And hasn't Rankin been there for years? Seems to be making out here that this gang are the cavilry.

Exactly.... and STILL the fans hounded him out of the club. SHAME ON YOU!

Re: Derrick Brown

The problem the jambos have with there safety certificate is the main stand. It is a genuine safety hazard and should not even pass the inspection.

The group in charge (Rankine etc) call themselves Livi5 - not because there are 5 in their group, but because this is the 5th rescue attempt of the club.
They don't own the ground, but Rankine was squealing that the lease, negotiated before his time apparently, was far too high.

Re: Derrick Brown

Aye,Hunter who has been re-instated was the muppet that took them from Meadowbank to Livingston and when he bolted left them with a shit load of debt. He's now back and the others with him don't seem to have a modicome of interest in the club,so what is the motive for them being there?
