Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Fools rush in

Thanks to Willie for his efforts but he was right to step down, sadly things just didn't work out for him.

With a fortnight until our next game I think the club should take as much time as needed to see who is out there. It is crucial that we get this appointment right as the club needs on-field stability to match the off-field ambitions.

Rushing in like the old regime were always keen to do in the past would be a big risk and also a wasted opportunity. Lee, Brian and co, please take your time and make sure we get the right man to lead the team up the league

Re: Fools rush in

He tried and failed which is better than failing to try. I didn't agree with willie being our gaffer but how could he not have a go when offered the chance. One thing to say is that he has always shown professionalism and although results have been very poor he did a dam sight better than last seasons supposed football man. Onwards and upwards got to galvanise this squad for a tough winter shift

Re: Fools rush in

Cannot agree more with these last two posts!
Still believe that we have a squad that should be much higher in the league, but needs a proven manager that can realise the potential that we have!

Re: Fools rush in

At our level proven managers are also tainted.

Perhaps Naismith can be our Colin Cameron or Paul Hartley?
