Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Colin Cameron

has resigned-will it be him.

Re: Colin Cameron

I think East fife want to keep naysmith in his role as assistant manager. could he and Cameron be the next management team?

Re: Colin Cameron

Good shout. There is an EFFC board meeting tonight. (Apologies if this is posted elsewhere). Whether thats to decide the process or consider short lists I'm not sure. Despite Cameron not being popular with some Cowden fans I dont get the impression he was close to getting punted by their board.

Re: Colin Cameron

Naysmith Hearts connection.... I wonder!

Re: Colin Cameron

Another inexperienced manager far too much of a gamble.
Do we really want to go through another Crawford / durie disaster?

Quite a few experienced managers out there and available. Just for a change we should take our time and pick the right one'

How many 2nd division titles had Crawford or Durie won as a manager prior to taking over at East Fife?
He's worked miracles at Cowden - to keep a club with that level of support in the 1st Div is a great achievement.

Nooooooooooo, I was meaning Naysmith'
Cameron would be a good shout imho.

Re: Colin Cameron

My wee pals to good for shite like you.

Re: Colin Cameron

I just hope the club take their time and appoint the right man for the job. No idea who we can afford, it's all good mentioning names but can we afford them? Cameron done a great job at Cowden, Same wi Moore at Morton before they had a clear out. No game this wkend so hopefully plenty interviews take place. Best we can hope for is to stay up as without naming names some players are clearly not good enough for this level. I would be happy with Cameron assisted by Naysmith or Steve Archibald.

Re: Colin Cameron

It's a tough time to get a manager at the moment as Cowden, Morton and Alloa (possibly) are all looking for one and playing the league above. I think those would be more attractive to the Jimmy Calderwoods that us sitting second bottom of the 3rd tier.
The Colin Cameron departure is interesting though and he has a record of doing it at this level. You would think that with him and Naysmith there is a wealth of technical experience and contacts that they can draw on.

Re: Colin Cameron

Rumour this morning that wee Mickey is Cappielow bound.

Too true. Good point. It is a pity that it took so long to draw a line under what had become obvious by the end of September.

Re: Colin Cameron

Couldn't agree more. Big admirer of this fella from his days at Wolves. Let's face it - anyone who can do as well as he's done with the Soapdodgers over the last couple of years is worth a shout.

Re: Colin Cameron

Cameron seems to be favourite for morton job according to morton fans. Odds 33/1 this morning now 6/4 only hopkin has better odds 4/5. Suppose more money and better set up there than cowden will always be a struggle with them.
