Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

manager appointment

gary naysmith and paul hegarty confirmed later today

Re: manager appointment

Good luck to them both. We need to start matching the potential this club has, too many false starts recently. Hope this is the start of a new era.

Re: manager appointment

i think gary has earned his chance at the job full time.

he seems to have turned the dressing room round in only 2 games and has us battling and playing football.

he also seems very vocal and passionate i think we are lucky to have him as manager.

heres hoping this is a very succesful appointment

Re: manager appointment

The announcement is tomorrow.

Re: manager appointment

if it is to be gary and paul -- all the best to them.
hope it works out for all concerned

Re: manager appointment

Re: manager appointment

Hardly the best kept secret is it? Good luck to them. It's vital we stay up this season and I'm confident Gary and Paul will do that.

Agree. Dare I even say that after these two wins we are six points from play off position? Thats my glass half full personality, can't help being the eternal optimist. I wonder if Mr Hegarty will be on fulltime contract as well or maybe part time as he was unpaid before the announcement?? I hope the attendances now increase steadily to help the great work being done behind the scenes. Not easy as we have been in the doldrums for so long. Needs sustained progress on the park for that to happen. Ofcourse going up to a higher league will increase away support and make the games more attractive to locals.MONTHEFIFE.

Re: manager appointment

I am delighted at the appointment

I hope he gets Hughes to stay the full season as he has been very influential in midfield. In his interview after the Airdrie match he spoke very highly of Gary so I hope it's enough to convince him we are worth a full season.

Re: manager appointment

Out of cups mid table looking a possibility I would settle for being the team to end McCoists winning streak. Oh and turn the pars over again, nae pressure like ! Lol all the best to whoever is lucky enough to get it.

WHEN we beat the PARs at the start of February, we'll move into 2nd spot then continue that momentum through the playoffs with promotion at the end of the season.

Re: manager appointment

Delighted with this news. Congratulations Gary!

Re: manager appointment

Chuffed to bits! Good luck to the new management team. Mon the Fife!!
