Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Obituary - Sandy Leitch

I was contacted by Sandy's brother after Christmas. He asked if a few lines could be included in the programme in memory of Sandy. For those who will miss tomorrow's game or may not buy a programme the obituary below will appear in the programme. We often see people regularly at games and maybe nod in the passing but never know who they are. Sandy was another East Fife supporter.

p.s. I have a photo of Sandy but don't know how to post it here so if anyone can help let me know and I will send it on.

OBITUARY.
We have been informed by family of the sad news that Sandy Leitch passed away recently.
Sandy was a loyal and dedicated East Fife supporter and, with his son David, had attended the last home game against Rangers at Bayview. It was shortly after that game that Sandy was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died at Roxburgh House hospice in Dundee on Christmas day aged 51.
Sandy was originally from Kennoway but lived in Tayport and travelled from there to watch the “Fife”. Sandy leaves behind his wife Tracy, son David and daughter Hayley who say he will never be forgotten.
A difficult time for a light-hearted note but his brother Norman said that, football aside, the highlight of the day for Sandy was his half-time pie.
Deepest sympathies to all Sandy’s family from everyone associated with East Fife Football Club.
