Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

POTY Dance - on pitch

Just read this re the end of season POTY dance:

"Just to let you know that the POTY dance will be held on 10th May 7.00pm -1.00am. It will be EFFC in conjuction with EFSC. It is going to be a 200 seater marquee on the park and will be tables of 8 plus either 1 player and director or 2 players at each table. It is going to be a three course meal with wine also there will be 2 spit roasts. The evening is going to be hosted by David Tanner of Skysports and hopefully another celebrity, there will also be a band, raffle prizes and auction (which there is a lot of good products).
The cost of this one off event will be £50/head, i know this sounds expensive but it is something that we are not going to get again.
If anyone is interested and they cant afford to pay all at once i am doing a pay up scheme,if anyone is interested a £10 non-refundable deposit is due to secure your ticket. If you would like to attend this exciting event come and see me on Sat at the Dunfermline game and i would be happy to speak to you. Can we please get as much supporters to attend as we possibly can and show our support."

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Sounds like a good idea but not sure if people will pay £50 and then have drink on top of that. I'm more concerned that 10th May is the date of the Semi Final 2nd leg of the Play Offs with the Final being played Wed 14th May and the 2nd leg on Sunday 18th May. Of course, we all don't want to be in the relegation play offs but I wouldn't mind if we were involved at the top end of the table. I realise that there is a lot of organization in hosting such an event and good on the club for trying something different but our fate in terms of the play Offs may not be determined until only 7 days before at the last game of the season. More thought required methinks.

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Contingency plans are in place Andy! April is plenty time to gauge where we are

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Not one..but TWO spit roasts! Count me in!

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

There is wine... Hopefully Shiraz ... I will defo get a money's worth... Will also mine sweep lounge lizard as he will be away from the table most of the time perving the spit roasts!

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

This sounds amazing! Not joking. Awfy expensive but I like the fact that there is the option to pay in installments.

Sadly, this might be the first season in nearly 22 years I don't make it to a game. Hope not!

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Sounds good.

Why is it a one off event though??

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Think that may be a mistake, my understanding is that this will be an annual event.

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Listen guys l dont think £50 is alot to ask especially with a payment scheme
Many of you have prob been to Sportsmans dinners which are £25 + and thats
For some speakers at this you've got either players and or directors at your table
Plus there will prob be the usual stuff from Sportsmans dinners like Irish Bingo
To Win a few prizes also there will be the autioning of signed shirts and stuff and
its all for the Good of our Club, so lets get behind it and get snapping up those Tickets

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Noisy Crossbar I am interested in this but dont know who you are so cant approach you at the game with the deposit.

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Bob - to clarify I was just pasting an email I received from EFSC. It's them that's organising it. An evening with me costs more than £50 but it's worth every penny.

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Player of the year dance???? WTF.

Dud of the year more like.

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Would you not be better having it in the Supporters club hut at the back of the goals.

Re: POTY Dance - on pitch

Yeah, as long as you promise that your mother isn't the stripper again this year.
