Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Brechin game

At the game today and could not believe how easy Brechin won this game. The difference between the two teams was enormous. The Fife were a totally disjointed outfit who could have played all day and never scored. Gary said last week that the main reason that we lost last week was that Dunfermline handled the conditions better than us and that he could not fault the players commitment, well I have to disagree. The reason we lost last week and today was exactly the same. We were totally outmuscled in midfield with too many passes going astray and booting the ball upfield into a Brechin back four of all six footers was futile, and the most glaring thing of all in both games was the fact that they fail to press the opposition when they have the ball and give them too much room to play the ball, but when we had the ball(any player) there were two or three players chasing them down. In short, the fans are not happy with the commitment of the players on or off the ball. The only good point to say about today was the performance of the new by - Dave Cowan, who I thought had a very good game against Bobby Barr who had to swap wings to do anything. Over to you Gary, reality is now staring you in the face, this was third division stuff today.
P.S. I was speaking to a Brechin supporter after the game and he could not believe how poor we were, despite our recent signings as Brechin fans were expecting a really hard game today.

Gary Naismith is a clown. Get him out before it's too late. Lee Murray doesn't know what he is doing. Tit.

Re: Brechin game

Give the boy a chance FFS Darth, wasn't at yesterdays game but from what im hearing it was the same as Dunfermline last week. We don't have a 6ft striker or any real pace upfront so why are we playing the long ball? I don't think O'neill is cut out for this level hes like a wee boy in the midfield. Gary Fisher atleast has 1st division experience with Accies last season but we need another powerhouse in there especially if were want to compete with the top 4. What is happening with Ross Brown? don't tell me hes another talent getting dropped, would like to see him play out wide.

A player is out injured for a few weeks and come off the bench the last two games doesn't sound like he's been dropped to me, Ross had been playing on the wing before Mckenzie was signed.
