Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

We could have done a lot worse surely.

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

Definitely would have been something worth looking at on a short term deal. We are short up front. However I'm sure Gary is working hard to get someone in on loan to help out whilst Fash and Clarke recover.

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

Would of been an absolutely horrible signing, hasn't done anything worth mentioning since leaving Gretna. Looked sluggish & very overweight when at Stenny. Plus with him up top we're forced to play long balls.

Good luck to him though...

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

"Would of been an absolutely horrible signing" says the man who backed the guy that signed Kevin Nade to the hilt

"hasn't done anything worth mentioning since leaving Gretna." he scored several goals (including a couple of hatricks against us) after Gretna were dead and buried.

Had a poor run at Stenny, has been out the game a couple of years and will obviously be nowhere near the player he was, but do you really think he would have been a worse option than what we've got at the moment?

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

He was poor at Northampton, Stenny & Hamilton to name a few, thrown in unsuccessful spells at St Johnstone & Falkirk then yeah he's done nothing since Gretna!

Why would I want an unfit Kenny Deuchar over Liam Buchanan?

Would it have been one or the other? How often has Gary Naysmith talked about how good it would be to have Liam play off a target man?

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

The worry for me, last season was terrible but we are 3pts worse off this season at the same stage. Its good that Arbroath and Airdrie are even worse or we would be in bottom two. Defeats against Airdie and Arbroath in the next few weeks are unthinkable. My concern, what has been the wage bill this season compared to last, and there has been no improvement in performances.( 3pts worse off). The table does not lie and the goals scored for are the worst in the league. Never mind Kenny Deuchar, lets go for George Dewar or Harry Kinnear!

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

Kenny had a great success in America.still could have helped the cause but that's another one that's got away.

Re: Kenny Deuchar comes out of retirement to sign for Arbroath

As long as his signing for them does not come back to haunt us.

Big Templeman alongside Buchanan will do nicely.
