Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Play Off Ticket Pricing

Seeing what Ayr did yesterday and lowering the price to £5 for a big game sounded like the ideal thing to do previous to the game and looking back was perfect. The bumper crowd (1952) helped spur on the team.

Now for East Fife to do something.

Surely to goodness something should be done to entice the fans back in for what could be the last or second last home game of the season.

If I were in charge (which I'm obviously not) I would set the pricing structure like this...

Adults £5
Under 16's £2
Under 10's £1

This way the local community (seeing as we are a community club) which isn't very well off and has a high unemployment rate can all get involved and head down.

The youth policy could bring in new fans for next season due to them enjoying (if we manage) a successful play off win.

Packing the stadium surely has to be the best way to go into these games and create as much of an atmosphere as possible.
Flags, banners, shoes, smoke bombs. Start making bayview somewhere fun with a good atmosphere, instead of the quiet drab, boring place it is now.

This also relys on the players giving us something to shout about so let's hope they can and let's hope something is done about ticket pricing too!

Re: Play Off Ticket Pricing

Good luck with this.

Re: Play Off Ticket Pricing

No chance of this happening. Club skint and we always get a good turnout for the playoffs. We might get the token reduction to a tenner but no chance of more. We have this argument every time we're in the playoffs.

Re: Play Off Ticket Pricing

Yeah is probably true that they won't do it. You say it's a good attendance but think how many extra people would go at a fiver. Football is pricing out the fans so why not try and lead some sort of change in these games. The football we have witnessed the past 24 months hasn't exactly been pleasing so why not give something back to the fans?
